LED Linear Light System — Tech Spec

Continuous linear runs for modern offices, retail, education, healthcare — anywhere the ceiling is a design feature and not just something to hide above a grid. These can be individual batten-style luminaires, or they can click together into continuous lines with L, T, and X connectors to follow the architecture. Surface mounted, suspended, or recessed.

Core Specs

Wattage per meter: 10W/m / 18W/m / 24W/m / 30W/m / 40W/m / 60W/m. Most office applications land at 18–30W/m depending on ceiling height and desired lux.

Module lengths: 600 mm / 900 mm / 1200 mm / 1500 mm / 1800 mm / 2400 mm. The 1200 mm is the most common — fits standard ceiling grids and is manageable for one-person install.

Module wattage (per length): 600 mm: 10–18W, 1200 mm: 20–36W, 1500 mm: 30–45W. These scale linearly — a 30W/m fixture at 1200 mm draws about 36W.

Input: AC 100–277V, 50/60 Hz.

Efficacy: ≥ 120 lm/W standard, ≥ 110 lm/W CRI 90 PRO.

CRI: ≥ 80 standard, ≥ 90 PRO, ≥ 95 PRO-Ultra. R9 ≥ 50 on PRO. Linear lights in offices should be CRI 90 — people sit under these eight hours a day.

CCT: 3000K / 4000K / 5000K / 6500K. Tunable white 2700K–6500K available with DALI DT8 drivers. Circadian/human-centric lighting projects almost always use linear fixtures as the main ambient source — if this is your application, tell us early because the driver and control spec is different.

UGR: < 19 with standard opal diffuser, < 16 with microprism. The microprism costs more and loses about 5–8% light, but it's becoming standard in German and Scandinavian office specs. If your lighting designer specified UGR < 16, you need the microprism lens.

Beam angle: 120° opal (wide, uniform), 90° microprism (tighter, low glare), 60° narrow (accent or high ceiling), asymmetric wall-wash (light throws to one side for illuminating a wall evenly).

IP rating: IP20 standard for dry interiors. IP44 for bathrooms and humidity. IP65 on request — the housing gets bulkier and more expensive because every joint needs a gasket.

Housing: Extruded aluminum profile — anodized or powder coated in white, black, silver, or custom RAL. The extrusion is the structural element and the heatsink, so wall thickness and fin design matter. Our standard profile wall is 1.2 mm minimum; budget options go thinner and the end result is a wavy line when you butt modules together.

Diffuser: Opal PMMA standard (uniform light, no LED dots visible). Microprism PMMA for low glare. Clear + reflective film for maximum efficiency (LED dots will be visible — use only in high-ceiling industrial applications). PS diffuser available on budget programs but we don't recommend it — yellows noticeably within 3–5 years.

LED strip inside: High-CRI strip, 120–240 LEDs per meter, constant-current IC design (each group of LEDs has its own tiny current regulator built into the strip, so the brightness is consistent from end to end). Most linear lights use constant-voltage strip with resistors, which means the end farthest from the power feed is noticeably dimmer. The constant-current IC design eliminates this.

LED chips: Bridgelux standard, Philips Lumileds PRO.

Driver: External, remote-mounted. MOSO standard, Meanwell on request. The driver sits in the ceiling void or in a surface junction box, connected to the luminaire with a quick-connect cable. You can drive multiple modules from one driver as long as the total load stays within the driver's rating — a single 60W driver can power two 1200 mm 30W modules, for example.

Dimming: Non-dim, 0-10V, DALI-2, Triac, push-dim. DALI-2 with DT8 for tunable white.

Mounting: Surface with aluminum clips (simplest — the profile clicks into clips screwed to the ceiling), suspended with stainless steel wire (1.5 m standard, adjustable, cut to length on site), recessed with a trimless plaster-in kit (the housing goes in before the drywall is finished — needs coordination with the ceiling contractor), or wall-mounted with a bracket.

Continuous runs: Modules connect end-to-end with inline connectors — mechanical clips join the aluminum profiles, and an electrical jumper wire inside connects the LED strips between modules. There are L-shape 90° corners, T-connectors, and X-connectors for complex grid layouts. The maximum length of a continuous run is limited by the driver capacity and voltage drop, not the connectors — typically one driver handles 5–10 meters, but we'll calculate it for your specific configuration.

Emergency: Integrated LED emergency driver available (3-hour, self-test or DALI-monitored). The emergency driver is a separate module that sits in the ceiling void and automatically powers the linear run from its internal battery if mains power drops. One emergency driver per 2–3 modules depending on wattage.

Power factor: ≥ 0.95. THD < 10%.

L70: ≥ 50,000 hrs at Tc 75°C.

Operating temp: -10°C to +40°C.

Warranty: 3 years standard, 5 years PRO.

Certifications: CE, RoHS, CB. ENEC on request.

Continuous run tips

If you're doing a 15-meter uninterrupted line, feed power from the center rather than one end — it halves the voltage drop and keeps brightness consistent across the full length. For suspended runs, the wire suspension points should be roughly every 2–3 modules; don't suspend only from the ends or the middle will sag. For L and T connections, the corner connector is rigid — it holds the geometry, the suspended wires don't have to.
